Please join us for the opening of Frank Heath's third exhibition with the gallery: Last Will and Testament. The exhibition opens June 2, 2PM-7PM, and runs until June 26, 2021.
Last Will and Testament, an exhibition by Frank Heath at Simone Subal Gallery, passed away Saturday June 26th. It was four weeks old. The show ended by natural causes and was surrounded by friends and family at the time of its death.
Last Will and Testament opened on June 2nd after a delay with installation. The deceased featured two new video works: Last Will and Testament and Crypts of Civilization (both 2021). Presented as a travelogue based on recent trips through the Suez Canal and the Onkalo spent nuclear fuel repository. The former video explored a plan for the total coverage of mortal remains practices, while the latter video recounted the history of The Crypt of Civilization (1940) and its role in the formation of The International Time Capsule Society (1990), a group dedicated to the registry and study of all known time capsules.
Simone Subal fondly recalled her time hosting the show, “it will be dearly missed.”
Last Will and Testament was preceded in death by three other solo exhibitions at the gallery: Post Holes (2012), Backup (2014), and Path of Totality (2018), as well as an extended family of relatives at other venues.
Arrangements may be sent to Simone Subal Gallery (131 Bowery 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10002).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Steven Donziger Legal Defense Fund.
